of <h1>India Amends Central Excise Registration Form A-1, Adds 'Importer' Category Under Rule 9, Effective April 2014.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 10/2014 to amend Form A-1 related to Central Excise Registration. Effective from April 1, 2014, the amendment adds 'importer' to the identification section for businesses requiring registration and to the category section in the form. This change is made under the powers conferred by rule 9 of the Central Excise Rules, 2002, and modifies the previous notification No. 35/2001-Central Excise (N.T.) dated June 26, 2001.
