of <h1>Govt Sets 8.7% Annual Interest Rate for Public Provident Fund Subscriptions From April 1, 2013, Onward</h1> The Central Government, under section 5 of the Public Provident Fund Act, 1968, announces that subscriptions made to the fund on or after April 1, 2013, will earn an interest rate of 8.7% per annum. This notification, dated June 25, 2013, applies to both new subscriptions and existing balances in the accounts of subscribers.
