of <h1>India Approves New Directorate of Income Tax (Risk Assessment) in New Delhi, Led by Director General</h1> The President of India has approved the establishment of the Directorate of Income Tax (Risk Assessment) under the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, effective immediately. This new directorate, based in New Delhi, will be led by a Director General of Income Tax, equivalent to a Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. It will operate under the administrative control of the Director General and will be an attached office of the CBDT. The staffing needs of the directorate will be fulfilled from the existing sanctioned strength of the Income Tax Department.
