India Revises Tariff Values for Palm Oil, Brass Scrap, Gold & Silver Effective January 2014
The Government of India, through the Central Board of Excise and Customs, has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) dated August 3, 2001. This amendment, effective from January 15, 2014, revises the tariff values for various goods. The updated tables specify new tariff values in US dollars per metric tonne for items like crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, crude soyabean oil, brass scrap, poppy seeds, and areca nuts. Additionally, the tariff values for gold and silver are set per 10 grams and per kilogram, respectively, for entries availing benefits under a prior notification.
