of <h1>India Amends Service Tax Notification: Expands Scope from 'District, State, Zone' to Include 'Country' Effective January 2014</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 01/2014 to amend Notification No. 25/2012-Service Tax, originally dated 20th June 2012. This amendment, effective from 10th January 2014, modifies the wording in entry 11, item (a) of the original notification by replacing 'district, State or zone' with 'district, State, zone or Country.' This change is made under the authority of section 93(1) of the Finance Act, 1994, in the public interest. The notification was last amended by Notification No. 14/2013-Service Tax on 22nd October 2013.
