of <h1>India Hikes Basic Customs Duty on Natural Rubber to Rs 30/kg, Effective December 20, 2013, Per Notification 12/2012-Customs</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has amended Notification No. 12/2012-Customs to increase the non-ad valorem Basic Customs Duty (BCD) on natural rubber from Rs 20/kg to Rs 30/kg. This change is made under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The amendment substitutes the previous rate with '20% or Rs.30/- per kg, whichever is lower' for item (ii) against serial number 252 in the notification table. This update is effective as of December 20, 2013.
