This appointment is made under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, and is intended for adjudicating matters related to a show cause notice issued to a company in Kolkata. The notice was originally issued by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Lucknow Zonal Unit. This authority will also cover duties previously managed by the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Airport) at the same location.
