of <h1>CENVAT Credit Rules 2004 amended: Rule 6(6)(vii) now includes reference to Notification No. 6/2006-Central Excise.</h1> The Central Government has amended the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004, under Notification No. 9/2006-Central Excise (N.T.) dated April 21, 2006. This amendment, known as the CENVAT Credit (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 2006, modifies rule 6, sub-rule (6), clause (vii) by replacing the reference to 'notification No. 6/2002-Central Excise dated the 1st March, 2002' with 'notification No. 6/2002-Central Excise dated the 1st March, 2002 or notification No. 6/2006-Central Excise dated the 1st March, 2006, as the case may be.' The amendment takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
