of <h1>Central Government Establishes IT and IT-Enabled Services SEZ at Thumbe Village, Recognized as Inland Container Depot</h1> The Central Government, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, has designated August 25, 2008, as the official date for the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services at Thumbe Village, Bantwal Taluk, Dakshin Kannada District, Karnataka. This SEZ, developed by a private company, will be recognized as an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act, 1962.
