of <h1>Inland Container Depot Status Granted to IT SEZ at Trans Thane Creek Per Section 7 of Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government has designated August 22, 2008, as the effective date for recognizing a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services at Trans Thane Creek Industrial Area, MIDC, District Thane, Maharashtra. This SEZ, developed by a private company, is now considered an Inland Container Depot under Section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, pursuant to the powers granted by the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
