of <h1>Environmental Society Gains Approval Under Section 35CCB for Green Initiatives; Must Comply with Reporting Requirements</h1> The Environmental Society, located in Madras, has been approved by the Secretary of the Department of Environment, Government of India, under section 35CCB of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The approval, effective from December 1, 1984, is valid for three years and covers programs including the development of a botanical garden, parks, green belts, and a beach study. The Society must maintain separate donation accounts, submit annual progress reports, and provide audited financial accounts to the prescribed authority and the Commissioner of Income-tax by June 30 each year. Approval may be withdrawn if conditions are not met.
