The original date, '1st day of March, 2004,' has been replaced with '1st day of April, 2004.' This amendment is made under the authority of the Finance Act, 2002, and is documented in Notification No. 06/2004-CE(N.T.), dated February 28, 2004. The principal notification was initially published in the Gazette of India and has undergone previous amendments, with the latest being Notification No. 85/2003-CENTRAL EXCISE (N.T.), dated December 31, 2003.
