Summary: The amendment caps ITC for invoices not uploaded by suppliers as reflected in GSTR 2A and requires monthly computation when claiming credit in Form GSTR 3B. Taxpayers should reconcile Books Credit (excluding ineligible and non GSTR 1 items) with GSTR 2A to identify Pending Invoices and Quarterly Invoices, compute Available Credit, and adjust by the permitted additional proportion to determine Eligible Credit; alternatively, take full book credit and pursue supplier uploads while accepting possible interest exposure.

Summary: Public-sector banks face elevated non-performing assets from concentrated exposures, economic slowdown, regulatory delays and governance failures; the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and RBI time bound resolution frameworks, together with recapitalisation and bank amalgamations, are central to restoring asset quality and creating stronger, more competitive banks while supervisory and governance reforms aim to strengthen risk management across banks, NBFCs and urban co-operative banks.
Summary: Searches and surveys on contractors and entry providers uncovered use of bogus companies to create accommodation entries as loans or expense bills, inflated expenses to suppress income, and a systematic modus operandi including bank fraud, forgery and siphoning of bank loans into property and share investments; investigations continue to identify beneficiaries and quantify the extent of accommodation entries and tax evasion.
Summary: Large-scale GST fraud was uncovered involving 28 bogus entities that obtained GST registration using exploited KYC, issued goodless invoices and e-way bills, and used cheque-cash circulation to enable fraudulent Input Tax Credit claims and occasional IGST refund attempts; two persons were arrested, accounts frozen and several buyers admitted liability and paid sums towards wrongly availed ITC, with investigations continuing to identify principal beneficiaries and recover amounts.
Summary: Overall trade shows a reduced combined trade deficit for April-October 2019-20 driven by a pronounced contraction in merchandise imports and modest export performance. Oil import reductions, linked to lower global Brent prices, and declines in non-oil and non-gold imports underlie the import fall. Services receipts grew in the latest available data, producing a positive net services surplus. Aggregate figures rely on provisional RBI estimates for services, with October values estimated and subject to revision on future RBI releases.
