of <h1>Finance Minister to Open Conference on Customs and Excise, Discuss GST, IT Initiatives, and Revenue Collection in New Delhi.</h1> The Finance Minister will inaugurate the All India Annual Conference of Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Customs and Central Excise on September 8, 2009, in New Delhi. Organized by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, the two-day event will address departmental functioning and challenges, including the administration and implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Discussions will cover IT initiatives, audit controls, revenue collections, and border management, aiming to enhance indirect tax administration and compliance. The Minister of State for Finance will preside over the closing session on September 9, 2009.
