        After getting a report that a consignment of acetic anhydride was illegally exported to Kabul, Afghanistan on March, 23, 2009, the matter has been investigated by the Delhi Customs. Acetic Anhydride can be used to manufacture heronic and is therefore controlled substance under the NDPS Act. It has been revealed that acetic anhydride was concealed in a consignment declared as 'ladies bindis" by the exporter, M/s Ma Durga Impex. The shipping bill was filed on 21.2.2009 The Acetic anhydride was allegedly concealed in 7 plastic jars with ladies bindis in 9 boxes. The consignment had left by Afghan Airlines FG - 316 on 21.2.2009

        Three persons namely Shri Prashant Kumar, Shri Rajesh Sharma and Shri Sunil Bakshi have been arrested on 05.05.2009. Shri Prashant Kumar is the General Manager of the Custom House Agent. All the three persons have been remanded to judicial custody upto 20.05.2009. Further investigations are underway.
