NOTE:
Latur, Sep 1 (PTI) A special procedure has been prescribed to complete Aadhaar authentication for elderly farmers facing difficulties with fingerprint-based authentication to avail benefits of the loan waiver scheme in Maharashtra's Latur district, officials said.
The cultivators whose fingerprints cannot be captured under the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmers' Loan Waiver Scheme 2026' should visit their nearest 'Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra' to complete the process, a senior cooperation department official said on Monday.
Farmers have been advised to carry their Aadhaar card and bank passbook when visiting the centre. After verifying their loan account details on the scheme's portal using the relevant number or Aadhaar number, the authentication process will be initiated.
If authentication still fails, the case will be forwarded to the tehsildar concerned, who will verify the farmer's identity by examining documents such as the Aadhaar card, bank passbook and 7/12 land record extract.
Once the identity is established on the basis of the Aadhaar number and supporting documents, the Aadhaar authentication process will be completed, the official said.
Eligible farmers will receive the loan waiver benefit directly into their bank accounts through the online system after completion of Aadhaar authentication and verification under the scheme's eligibility criteria, he added. PTI COR GK
