Kolkata, Jul 12 (PTI) Kolkata-based homoeopathic medicine manufacturer Dr S C Deb Homeo Research Laboratory is aiming to nearly quadruple its revenue to Rs 100 crore by 2030-31, driven by capacity expansion, export growth and expansion into new domestic and overseas markets, the company said on Sunday.
The company, which completed 26 years of operations, reported revenue of Rs 27 crore in the last fiscal, including around Rs 5 crore from exports to neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
Managing Director Chanchal Chandra Deb stated that the company is undertaking a significant expansion of its manufacturing capacity at its Kolkata facility near the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport to support future growth.
"We are hoping to generate around Rs 15 crore revenue annually from the new ophthalmic division. Export revenue is also likely to be around Rs 15 crore a year. New geographies will also be targeted. Besides, our effort on furthering our domestic presence throughout the length and breadth of the country should help us generate Rs 100 crore revenue by 2030-31," Deb said.
He said the company plans to strengthen its footprint across India while expanding exports beyond its existing neighbouring markets.
Deb said the company remains committed to promoting homoeopathy through scientific research and public awareness initiatives and called upon homoeopathic pharmaceutical manufacturers to work collectively for the overall development of the industry.
"Homoeopathy continues to remain an affordable and effective system of healthcare for millions, and providing quality medicines at reasonable prices remains one of the company's foremost objectives," he said.
The company also plans to establish a homoeopathic medical college and hospital in memory of its founder, Dr S C Deb, to contribute to homoeopathic education and healthcare, he added. PTI BSM RG
