Shimla, Apr 17 (PTI) Mandatory biometric data updation camps would be organised in government and private schools across Himachal Pradesh from April 20, a government spokesperson said here on Friday.
Department of Digital Technologies and Governance, in co-ordination with the Department of School Education and Samagra Shiksha, would organise these camps to facilitate the Mandatory Biometric Update of Aadhaar for children who have attained the age of five years or 15 years.
As per UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) guidelines, children are required to update their biometric details -- fingerprints, iris scan and photograph on attaining these ages to ensure continued validity and accuracy of Aadhaar, according to an official statement.
The official said the camps would be conducted district-wise, and in a phased manner, in all schools statewide, and requested students and parents to cooperate with school authorities and camp teams for timely completion of the updation process.
He said guardians are advised to ensure that their wards carry a copy of their Aadhaar, and preferably share the mobile number linked with it, adding that children may be accompanied by a parent/guardian, if required.
The spokesperson said all parents should avail this facility and complete the mandatory biometric update of eligible children within the stipulated time to avoid inconvenience in availing Aadhaar-based services in future. PTI BPL ARB ARB
