<h1>Union Budget: TCS on education and medical remittances under LRS reduced to 2%; girls hostels planned in every district.</h1> The Budget supports creation of five university townships near industrial and logistic corridors, one girls' hostel in every district via viability gap funding or capital support, a loan linked capital subsidy for veterinary education and diagnostics, and content creator labs in 15,000 schools. It reduces the TCS rate under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme to 2% for remittances over Rs 10 lakh for education or medical purposes (other purposes remain at 20%). A High Powered 'Education to Employment and Enterprise' Standing Committee is proposed to advise on services sector growth and technology driven skill needs.
