<h1>Comprehensive cancer care in Durgapur expands local diagnostics and therapy, improving access and reducing patient burden.</h1> A surgical oncologist strengthened regional oncology services by establishing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities at a district hospital, enabling local provision of mammography, X-ray, CT, MRI, complex onco-surgery and chemotherapy; this expansion reduces patient travel and financial burden and improves timely access to care. The hospital is installing radiotherapy machinery and planning a nuclear medicine unit with PET-CT to consolidate multimodal cancer management on site, promoting continuity of care, patient-centred counselling and follow-up, and advancing the facility toward a regional comprehensive cancer centre for surrounding districts.
