Special Intensive Revision: publication of 'logical discrepancies' and local document submission for voters; income-tax reassessment notices against NDTV founders quashed
The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission to publish the names on the 'logical discrepancies' list and to permit submission of documents and objections at gram panchayat bhavans and block offices in the Special Intensive Revision process, prescribing increased procedural transparency and local access for affected electors. The Delhi High Court quashed 2016 income-tax reassessment notices issued to the NDTV founders as arbitrary and violative of fundamental/constitutional rights, setting those notices aside and awarding token costs to the taxpayers.
