<h1>Illegal mining of minor minerals searches and seizures of cash, vehicles and property enabling PMLA attachment, investigation and potential prosecution</h1> ED conducted coordinated searches at over 20 locations in Ganjam under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act targeting alleged networks engaged in illegal mining of minor minerals; the operative effect is recovery and seizure of alleged proceeds of crime-including large cash sums, high-end vehicles and immovable property documents-thereby enabling provisional attachment, investigation for predicate offences, and potential prosecution and confiscation proceedings under the PMLA against the persons and entities linked to the illegal mining operations.
