Haryana seeks higher FY27 budget support: bigger rural and urban infrastructure fund caps, more untied capital investment assistance.
Haryana requested that the FY27 Union Budget increase funding ceilings and allocations for specified central funds and state assistance. It sought raising the general allocation under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund to Rs 2,000 crore for 2026-27, which would expand available financing for rural infrastructure and rural development works. It also sought increasing the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund maximum project-size cap from Rs 100 crore to Rs 500 crore, which would permit larger urban infrastructure projects to be financed under UIDF. Haryana further sought higher untied allocations with relaxed utilisation conditions and continued support under 'Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment,' which would increase discretionary fiscal space for capital expenditure, including medical education expansion, agriculture remediation/modernisation, MSMEs, startups, and social security pensions.
