Young Scholars Unite to Advance Digital Preservation and Legal Innovation for Grotto Temple Heritage and Global Cultural Dialogue
An international academic exchange in Chongqing's Dazu District will convene over 100 young scholars from multiple countries to discuss innovative legal and technical approaches to grotto temple conservation. The event, included in the outcome list of the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, is guided and co-hosted by several public cultural heritage authorities and research institutions, highlighting intergovernmental and institutional cooperation in implementing cultural heritage obligations. Focusing on protection, inheritance, innovation, and symbiosis, the program emphasizes interdisciplinary dialogue on international communication of grotto culture and the use of digital technologies. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dazu Rock Carvings illustrate compliance with international preservation standards through millimeter-level digital archiving, permanent 3D databases, intelligent monitoring, and virtual restoration, reinforcing best practices in safeguarding cultural property.
