Police bust organised Tramadol racket, seize 54,000 tablets under NDPS Act, probe wider interstate and international network
Delhi Police disrupted an alleged interstate and international drug syndicate dealing in banned pharmaceutical substances, seizing 54,000 Tramadol-based tablets valued at over Rs 32 lakh. Tramadol, notified as a psychotropic substance in 2018, is regulated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). An FIR under the NDPS Act was registered after officers apprehended a local resident in possession of the tablets, leading to the arrest of four associates linked to warehousing, export, customs facilitation, and courier logistics. Authorities allege the group formed an organised network for procurement, storage, and distribution of the banned drug, and are continuing investigations into additional co-conspirators and international supply routes.
