<h1>Inland Waterways Authority signs Rs 3,000 crore MoUs to boost Northeast cargo movement, cruises and connectivity</h1> The Inland Waterways Authority of India executed Memoranda of Understanding and related agreements worth about Rs 3,000 crore with multiple public and private entities to develop inland waterways and strengthen industrial connectivity in the Northeast. Key instruments include a Rs 500 crore MoU with a private cruise operator to develop and deploy new cruise vessels, and a Rs 1,000 crore MoU with a logistics company to induct modern tug-barges on the Ganga and Brahmaputra, enhancing multimodal cargo movement. Additional agreements cover development of cruise terminals in Assam, an all-weather approach road to a cargo-cum-tourist terminal, and establishment of a Regional Centre of Excellence in Dibrugarh.
