<h1>Women-Led E-Rickshaw Initiative Boosts Safe Mobility and Jobs Through Multi-Stakeholder Support in Rural Uttar Pradesh</h1> Representatives of an international foundation and an Indian social enterprise conducted a field visit in Uttar Pradesh to review implementation of a women-led safe mobility initiative developed under a decade-long job-creation partnership. The programme supports women as e-rickshaw operators and ancillary service providers, facilitated through village- and district-level multi-stakeholder platforms involving law enforcement, transport authorities, financial institutions, vendors, schools, and government bodies. These structures provide regulatory, financial, and market access support aimed at overcoming social barriers to women's economic participation. The initiative, co-financed by multiple philanthropic entities and scaled with the state rural livelihood mission, aligns with governmental policies on women's economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
