<h1>FIR against company founder, others for Rs 3.6 crore investment fraud under BNS and MPID Act provisions</h1> Police in Thane, Maharashtra, have registered an FIR against five individuals, including a company founder, for allegedly cheating 14 investors of Rs 3.6 crore through a scheme promising high and assured returns. The complainant, a Mumbai shopkeeper, alleged that he and others invested the amount since February last year, initially receiving regular returns before payments abruptly stopped. The accused allegedly failed to repay both returns and principal. Offences have been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act. The matter has been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing for further investigation.
