Inquiry finds three individuals culpable in contested Rs300 crore government land sale to LLP linked to politician's son
A three-member registration department inquiry into a contested Rs 300 crore sale of 40 acres in Pune found wrongdoing by the three individuals named in the police FIR but did not name the company owner, whose name does not appear on transaction documents. The deal transferred government land to an LLP linked to a politician's son and included an alleged Rs 21 crore stamp-duty exemption. The panel indicted a suspended sub-registrar, the owner's business partner (also a relative), and the seller's power-of-attorney holder; revenue and settlement inquiries are pending and a state committee will review all reports. The LLP has seven days to respond to a Rs 42 crore stamp-duty demand.
