Government approves Rs 45,000 crore export support package: EPM for MSMEs and CGSE 100% collateral-free guarantees
The government approved two schemes totaling Rs 45,000 crore to bolster exporters affected by high US tariffs: a Rs 25,060 crore Export Promotion Mission (EPM) implemented over six years via two sub-schemes - one focused on financial support for MSMEs and first-time exporters (interest subvention, export factoring, collateral guarantees, e-commerce credit cards, credit enhancement) and the other on non-financial enablers (branding, packaging, trade fairs, warehousing, transport reimbursements, trade intelligence) - and a Rs 20,000 crore Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE) providing 100% collateral-free guarantees through the national credit guarantee trustee entity, overseen by a management committee chaired by the DFS Secretary, aimed at restoring competitiveness and market diversification amid current US tariff actions and bilateral trade talks.
