Government expands and enforces Quality Control Orders to curb substandard imports, boost manufacturing, compliance, and investor confidence
The Union Ministry reaffirmed the central government's legal and policy commitment to quality manufacturing by expanding and enforcing Quality Control Orders (QCOs) to curb substandard imports and protect consumers, while urging robust centre-state coordination for timely, transparent implementation of industrial incentives using third-party verification, escrow/RBI-linked payment mechanisms and self-certification to bolster compliance and investor confidence. The ministry promoted sustainability-aligned manufacturing and sectoral support measures (including fisheries and FTAs) and highlighted the Business Reforms Action Plan 2024's evidentiary, user-feedback weighted assessment framework and extensive outreach as the basis for classifying state and union territory reform performance.
