<h1>Bus-tipper collision kills 19, many injured as gravel-filled bus traps passengers; survivors largely from rear behind conductor</h1> Nineteen people were killed and multiple others injured when a bus and a tipper lorry collided in Telangana; survivors reported passengers seated behind the conductor escaped while those behind the driver were largely killed. The tipper came from the opposite direction and much of the bus became filled with gravel, trapping occupants; some escaped by opening or breaking windows. Injuries included fractures and facial, abdominal and leg trauma; victims received IV fluids, tetanus prophylaxis and transfers to major hospitals. Heavy earth-moving equipment was used in the rescue, during which a police inspector sustained minor injuries.
