<h1>Cabinet approves four multi-tracking railway projects adding 894 km, Rs 24,634 crore to boost freight capacity</h1> The Cabinet approved four multi-tracking railway projects across 18 districts in four states, allocating approximately Rs 24,634 crore to add about 894 km of track and enhance network capacity. Projects include additional lines on Wardha-Bhusawal, Gondia-Dongargarh, Vadodara-Ratlam and Itarsi-Bhopal-Bina corridors. The approvals aim to improve passenger and freight movement, serve roughly 3,633 villages and two designated aspirational districts, and increase freight capacity by an estimated 78 MTPA. The projects are framed under a national master plan to boost multimodal connectivity, economic development, and environmental efficiencies.
