<h1>National 2023 report finds biggest metro concentration of economic offences, rising state financial fraud and concentrated cybercrime hotspots</h1> A national crime-records report for 2023 shows the largest metropolitan concentration of economic offences in the country, with the financial capital recording 6,476 cases (down from 6,960 in 2022); chargesheets were filed in 37.9% of those metropolitan cases. State-level financial frauds rose overall, with one state reporting 27,675 cases, another 26,321 and a third 19,803; across states chargesheets were filed in 54.9% of economic fraud matters. Cybercrime incidents were concentrated in a few states and metros, with one state registering 21,889 cyber offences and the leading metro reporting 17,631, indicating persistent enforcement and prosecution gaps in economic and cyber frauds.
