<h1>India's SEZ Exports to Double, Surpassing Rs. 1.25 Lakh Crore; Employment to Exceed 8 Lakh by December 2009.</h1> Exports from Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in India are projected to exceed Rs. 1,25,000 crore this year, marking a 100% growth. Employment in SEZs is expected to surpass 8 lakh by December 2009, with investments reaching Rs. 2,00,000 crore. The Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs organized an interactive meeting highlighting the sector's role in employment, exports, and infrastructure development. The government has approved 513 SEZs, with 250 notified and 87 operational. Exports from Export Oriented Units (EOUs) reached Rs. 1,42,211 crore, growing 128% and providing jobs to approximately 11.50 lakh people.
