<h1>40-hour mediation training for presiding officers and senior public sector bank executives on Recovery of Debts and SARFAESI Acts</h1> A government financial department, in collaboration with a judicial mediation committee, conducted a 40-hour mediation training programme for presiding officers of debt recovery tribunals and senior executives of public sector banks from 24 to 28 September 2025 at the Supreme Court complex. The curriculum covered the concept and stages of mediation, comparisons between judicial and ADR processes, mediator roles, communication techniques, negotiation and bargaining, and the roles of referral judges, lawyers and parties, with emphasis on matters under the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 and the SARFAESI Act, 2002. Participants reported satisfaction with the programme.
