<h1>Power firm and national nuclear utility form 2,800 MW joint venture with Rs 42,000 crore for baseload, jobs, decarbonization</h1> A state-owned power company and a national nuclear utility formed a joint venture to develop a 2,800 MW nuclear power project in Rajasthan with a reported investment of about Rs 42,000 crore, the utility holding 51% and the power company 49%. The project, comprising four 700 MW units, was ceremonially launched by the Prime Minister and is intended to provide baseload power, support local employment and economic development, and advance decarbonization goals. Concurrent large-scale solar and storage projects were also announced, representing additional multi-thousand-crore renewable investments and projected CO2 and water savings.
