GSTAT will operate from a principal bench and multiple state benches with a mix of judicial and central/state technical members, promote plain-language, digital-first processes, virtual hearings, and specified timelines, and unveils an e-Courts portal for online filing, tracking and hearings. Staggered filing is permitted until 30 June 2026 and guidance materials are provided to facilitate transition, with the stated aim of faster dispute resolution and greater predictability for taxpayers.
