<h1>Government establishes Cashew Board to boost farmer welfare, increase production, support processing, exports and job creation</h1> The state government has constituted a Cashew Board headquartered in Cuddalore to promote producer and worker welfare, increase domestic production and boost exports; it is funded with an initial allocation of Rs 10 crore from the 2025-26 agriculture budget. The board will be chaired by the state agriculture minister and consist of 12 members, including representatives of the state agriculture university, the food-processing and export promotion corporation, horticulture and agriculture departments, and two farmers from major cashew-growing districts. Mandated activities include employment creation, value addition, pest management, post-harvest processing, export facilitation and measures to reduce import dependence.
