<h1>Multi-crore 20-acre disability institute to offer therapy, vocational training and personalised assistive devices, serving 1,000 beneficiaries by 2029</h1> A multi-crore international institute for persons with disabilities will be constructed on a 20-acre campus in northern Kerala to provide training in arts and sports, advanced therapy, personalised assistive devices, vocational and medical services, and expanded rehabilitation infrastructure. Modeled on an existing different-art centre, the project aims to serve about 1,000 beneficiaries annually and be fully operational by 2029; construction has been awarded to a labour contract co-operative society, with an agreement and first instalment handed over at the inaugural ceremony. The institute is intended to serve regional and national beneficiaries, including those affected by endosulfan.
