The major container port comprises five dedicated terminals operated by global firms, offers a deep draft exceeding 15 metres, and can accommodate 18,000-TEU vessels. Government and terminal company officials participated in the event. The port authority handles approximately 54% of containerised cargo across India's major ports, underscoring its central role in national maritime trade and capacity expansion.
