<h1>GST slashed to 0% for UHT milk and paneer, 5% across dairy, farm inputs and tractor parts from Sept 22</h1> The tax council approved across-the-board GST rate cuts effective September 22, making UHT milk and paneer zero-rated (from 5%) and lowering GST on condensed milk, butter, cheese and related fats to 5% (from 12%). Several agricultural machines and implements, self-loading trailers and hand-propelled vehicles saw rates cut to 5% (from 12%). Key fertiliser inputs (sulphuric acid, nitric acid, ammonia) and micro-nutrients moved to 5% (from 18%), and various biopesticides and microbial products were cut to 5% (from 12%). Comprehensive tractor components and certain diesel engines for tractors were reduced to 5% (from 18%), aiming to lower farmers' input costs and consumer dairy prices.
