India and Germany pledge to double bilateral goods trade, boost investment, technology, sustainability, and ease migration and visa hurdles
The Indian Commerce Minister and the German Foreign Minister held bilateral talks with industry delegations to strengthen trade and investment ties, promote cooperation in innovation, sustainability and technology, and advance skill development and resilient supply chains. They reaffirmed commitment to an ambitious India-EU free trade agreement, agreed to address migration, visa streamlining and non-tariff barriers affecting exporters, and set a target to double bilateral goods trade from a record USD 29.12 billion in 2024-25 while expanding services trade. German firms signalled plans to expand manufacturing and investments in India, and both governments committed to facilitate business engagement and resolve trade impediments.
