<h1>State cabinet approves major metro and suburban rail expansions, PPP airport corridor, IBFC land, roads, social welfare, labour amendments</h1> State cabinet approved major infrastructure and social welfare measures, authorizing metro and suburban rail expansions across multiple cities, sanctioning loans and assuming contingent liabilities for projects including a large Mumbai metro line, Pune and Nagpur metro extensions, and Pune-Lonavala suburban rail third/fourth lines with prescribed cost-sharing by local bodies and the state. Approvals include PPP development of an elevated corridor to a new airport, land acquisition for an International Business and Finance Centre, outer ring road and terminals, and Rs 3,750 crore for a new High Court complex. The cabinet also approved amendments to labour laws, fly-ash use policy, and increases in specified social assistance and scholarship schemes.
