<h1>Revised Rs 3,346.29 crore distribution modernization scheme approved for municipal power utility to expand infrastructure, deploy smart meters, cut losses</h1> The state government approved a revised Rs 3,346.29 crore scheme under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme for a municipal power distribution undertaking to modernize and expand distribution infrastructure, enhance capacity, deploy smart metering and reduce losses. The plan, aligned with a resource adequacy roadmap to 2030, includes new receiving and distribution substations, advanced management systems and auxiliary equipment, sets annual targets for lowering technical and commercial losses and narrowing the cost-revenue gap, and will be submitted to the designated central finance/monitoring agency for committee clearance.
