<h1>Central government fiscal deficit reaches 29.9% of full-year target by end-July, Rs 4.68 lakh crore gap</h1> Official accounting data show the central government's fiscal deficit rose to 29.9% of the full-year target by end-July, versus 17.2% of the budget estimate in the same period a year earlier and 17.9% at the end of the first quarter. In absolute terms the gap between expenditure and revenue stood at Rs 4,68,416 crore for April-July. The government projects a full-year fiscal deficit of 4.4% of GDP, equivalent to Rs 15.69 lakh crore for 2025-26.
