<h1>Speaker urges parliamentary and state SC/ST welfare committees to recommend policies, review budgets, and strengthen safeguards</h1> The Lok Sabha Speaker urged parliamentary and state/UT legislature SC/ST welfare committees-described as nonpartisan bodies-to issue recommendations for policies, schemes and educational improvements responsive to changing needs of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and to review budget allocations for appropriate expenditure. Speaking at a national conference held outside the capital with delegates from Parliament and 19 states, the Speaker emphasized strengthening constitutional safeguards, promoting socio-economic development and leadership among SC/ST youth and women, and using committee deliberations to guide government action and legislative discussions to ensure inclusive growth and social justice.
