<h1>Union Commerce Minister directs plantation boards to boost exports, value-added products, India brand promotion, and farmer welfare initiatives</h1> The Union Minister of Commerce & Industry reviewed the functioning of plantation boards responsible for spices, tea, rubber, coffee and turmeric, urging market diversification, promotion of value-added products, adherence to quality standards and full use of Free Trade Agreement benefits. The minister directed joint promotion of the 'India' brand with equal board contributions, creation of a Bharat Pavilion at major fairs, incorporation of 'India' into GI product logos, and measures for growers' and workers' welfare, including skilling coordinated with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Boards were asked to support stakeholders via ease-of-doing-business steps and consider a common incubation centre for research and startups.
