<h1>Governor urges Aadhaar-linked multilingual migrant registration, portable worker cards, welfare officers, hostels, helpline and Rs 5,000 monthly aid</h1> A state governor has sent the Centre and the state government recommendations to address exploitation and poor conditions of the state's migrant labourers, proposing an Aadhaar-linked multilingual registration portal issuing portable Migrant Worker Cards, formal MoUs with major destination states, appointment of labour welfare officers, affordable hostels, shift to a One Citizen One Ration Card model, skill-training and certification, a 24x7 multilingual helpline, legal aid and mediation, and monitoring of placement agencies. The state government has separately announced a rehabilitation scheme offering Rs 5,000 monthly for up to 12 months to returning migrant workers.
