<h1>India and Sweden Update Tax Agreement: New Protocol Enhances Information Exchange and Cooperation in Tax Matters.</h1> The Government of India is updating its Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs) and has signed a Protocol with Sweden to amend their existing agreement. This amendment includes updating the Exchange of Information article to meet international standards, allowing for the exchange of banking information and information without domestic interest. Additionally, provisions for Tax Examination Abroad have been introduced, enabling officials from one country to conduct tax examinations in the other. These changes aim to enhance transparency and cooperation between India and Sweden in tax matters. This was announced by the Minister of State for Finance in a written response to the Lok Sabha.
